People have been interfacing with machines since they learned to sharpen rocks. We are taking the next step in a natural progression.
While machines may take over some day, it is not this day.
Technology has advanced until it bumped up against certain limitations of physics. Now people are beginning to catch up with the technology. By using the best machines have to offer as an adjunct to the incredible capacity of the living mind, we can move the practice of law to a new level.

Passing The Event Horizon

Legal Research has become a profit black hole. Since the time of the Magna Carta scribes have been recording cases, organizing issues by key words that could then be looked up in legal encyclopedias. This was a terrible way of organizing something as complex as law, but it was the best we had.
Then, in the mid 1970's along came Westlaw and ruined the practice of law. Instead of looking up a keyword in one of the legal encyclopedias and fins a few controlling cases, you could do a keyword search on one of the online resarch tools and find 10,000. It was then that lawyers stopped doing general practice and specialized. Research simply became a crap shoot so lawyers had go focus their practice in order to be able to keep up with all the case law.
